Sports fans across the world are eagerly awaiting the 2018 European Championships, due to be hosted across the two cities of Glasgow, Scotland and Berlin, Germany from 2nd to 12th August 2018. Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing, Triathlon and new Golf European Team Championships will take place in Glasgow while Athletics will take place in the German capital.
The event commences a new multi-sport event which will take place every four years. It should be noted, however, that this competition is not connected to the European Games which is operated by the European Olympic Committees. Over one billion viewers are expected to watch the energetic performances from athletes which will be broadcast across the continent on Freeview channels and the Eurosport network on television.

The Championships kick off on 3rd August bringing a wealth of sporting greats to the city to compete in various sports.

Open water swimming is also included in the competition programme where you can watch the un-ticketed 5km men and female heats – this is a free occasion, therefore fans can turn up on the day to watch the event. Stand by the shores of breath-taking Loch Lomond amongst stunning scenery and get involved in a great day out. Not far from Glasgow, in the capital city of Edinburgh, diving competitions will be held at the Royal Commonwealth Pool.
For those who enjoy two-wheeled sports, Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome will be the focus for the cycling track events, while road races will be held on the city’s streets passing by famous landmarks. Further BMX track and bike trail events will be held at Cathkin Braes.
The iconic SSE Hydro will be the focus of the gymnastics competitions where the best European gymnasts will be battling it out for a medal. As one of the most modern arenas in the world, spectators will enjoy a premium view of all the action, while being amongst fantastic facilities. Triathlon and rowing will take place on the outskirts of the city at Strathclyde Country Park, while Golf fans can get up close to their idols at Gleneagles resort, the venue of the 2014 Ryder Cup.
